Cheyletiellosis Mange |

Cheyletiella Mange There are several species of Cheyletiella mites which are often called 'walking dandruff' because if one looks carefully the mites can be seen moving on the skin of the animal. Cheyletiella mites can infest several species of household pet as well as humans, albeit temporarily, as with their sarcoptic cousins.
The life mite cycle is about 3 weeks
and is transmitted by direct contact between infected animals. Since
these mites and their eggs can live for several days off-host it is
important to treat the environment to prevent a cycle of
re-infestation.
